What is Cannabis Oil (CBD) and What Does it Do?

Cannabis oil (CBD) is a thick, sticky substance composed of cannabinoids, which is obtained from cannabis flowers or hemp using a solvent extraction procedure. It’s the most concentrated form of cannabis products, which makes cannabis oil the most powerful. The oil can be ingested orally or applied topically.

It also can be mixed with creams or salves for beauty treatments, and other external uses. Some of the favorite ways to use CBD is in edible food products such as high quality chocolates.

The cannabis plant originated from Central Asia and is one of the oldest drugs known to mankind. According to archeological discoveries, it was in China since at least 4000 BC.

New and Popular

Diseases and conditions that cannabis oil may positively affect include: Crohn’s disease, diabetes, gout, pain relief, glaucoma, migraines, epilepsy, anorexia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, opioid dependence, strokes, head trauma, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, HIV dementia and even cancer. Thus, making CBD one of the most new and popular topics in the medical industry today.

CBD has unique properties and effectiveness in providing relief for many conditions. This is why scientists are beginning to turn their attention to it. It is a non-psychoactive Cannabis compound that is a realistic option.

But when it comes to cancer, there are strong arguments on both sides of the coin. A recent study published in July 2018 indicates that neither side is right or wrong. In the study, researchers found that when using Chemotherapy with CBD for cancer, it inhibited the proliferation rate of cancer cells and tripled the survival rate of mice with pancreatic cancer. But that is a limited study.

The key to the cancer killing process is the accumulation of ceramide in the system. This means that by taking any amount of CBD, at a steady rate over a period of time, the patient will keep metabolic pressure on these cancer cell death pathways.

Research surrounding cannabis oil and the cannabis industry will continue and likely CBD use will increase, especially since there is an emerging trend  that touts the benefits without the side effects of THC.

How can cannabis oil help you?

A quick reminder that CBD is the grounding counterbalance to THC, which is the psychoactive element in weed that gets you high. In metaphor: THC is hosting the party, and CBD is driving you there. Some legal CBD products on the market source CBD from cannabis without THC, aka industrial hemp. The others can contain various amounts of THC and are only available in certain states.

But with safe, high quality cannabidiol, you may find that your quality of life improves as you sleep better and go through your day with less pain. Plus, eatables infused with CBD like chocolates can actually add years to your life, The oldest person ever (living to 122) claimed to have eaten over 2 pounds of dark chocolate per week.
